Proposition Development

We help you develop and test new ideas and determine their key success factors

The Picnic Approach

We work with propositions that are fully developed and written, or just a rough sketch with some key features and benefits (and anything in between).

We have our own validated approach which means we can tell you the real success (or lack thereof) of a proposition - rather than just providing a “top 2 box” score.

We also become deeply embedded in the particular subject matter. This has a two-fold effect: firstly, it allows us to carefully scrutinise feedback and add context to the insights via an understanding of the competitive landscape, technical aspects, and adoption trends; secondly, we are able to develop and re-write the proposition for you.

Some of the tools we use include:

  • MARKET SIZING

  • USAGE AND ATTITUDES

  • Feature importance analysis

  • ExPERT INTERVIEWS

  • TURF

  • BARRIERS AND BENEFITS

Outcomes

You get a research-backed blueprint of the proposition containing all the copy, claims and visuals, to input into marketing, comms and PR.

We also provide recommendations on the target audience, and broad pricing and channel strategies. If a deep dive on pricing is warranted (e.g exact price points and revenue implications) we can apply a series of other approaches which you can read about here.

Impact

We’re proud to have played a role in achieving the best outcome for our clients and their customers. Some of the propositions we have tested have gone back to the drawing board, some have gone onto prototype development, many have been optimised and successfully launched.

What our clients say

“Picnic were exactly the right team to bring to life a CEO leadership team request for a strategic project. They were able to quickly work as an extension of the team, using multiple channels, data points and different methodologies to triangulate results and insights. This layered approach enabled a clear and concise report and recommendations”
